BA/BS in Art and Technology (formerly Digital Arts)
The Department of Art offers a rolling admission deadline to the Art and Technology major. Students can apply to the major at any time by completing the online Slideroom department application (BA/BS in Art and Technology).
To apply as a freshman or transfer student, you must submit both the University of Oregon admission application in order to be admitted to the university and the online Slideroom department application (BA/BS in Art and Technology) - in order to apply to the major.
Department of Art — BA/BS in Art and Technology online application requirements
- Statement of Interest: Please write a statement explaining your interest in the Art and Technology program. Address your aesthetic and creative concerns. What do you have to say? Which artists do you admire? Give us a sense of who you are! Please also address why are you choosing your medium or technology as your tool for expression?
- Portfolio: Applicants to the Art and Technology major = include 10 pieces. Please label each piece with your name, media and date the work was created.
- Letter of recommendation: At least one letter of recommendation is required. Recommenders will automatically receive an email inviting them to complete the reference requirement.
- NOTE: Applicants can expect to be notified of the Department of Art admission decision within 4–6 weeks after submission of the departmental application. To be eligible for priority registration for the upcoming term, your application must be received at least 6 weeks prior to the initial registration for the upcoming term.
BFA in Art and Technology application
The application deadline for the Art and Technology BFA program is February 1 for fall term. Visit the Art Office, 198 Lawrence Hall, for the Art and Technology BFA application form.
BFA in Art application
Students apply for admission to the BFA in a particular media area in the last term of their fourth year of study. Please consult with curriculum coordinator in media area or areas of interest.
MFA in Art application
The Master of Fine Arts degree is in Art, reflecting the breadth and integration of the program. Applications are reviewed by the entire faculty.
